How to play Connect 4
Players take turns dropping a disc into one of the seven columns. The disc falls to the lowest free space. The first player to line up four discs in a row, horizontally, vertically or diagonally, wins. If the grid fills with no four in a row, the game is a draw.

Modes
- vs Computer on Easy, Medium or Hard. You and the computer take turns going first.
- 2 players on the same device: pass the phone or share the screen.
Connect 4 strategy
- Take the middle column. More winning lines pass through it than any other.
- Always check for threats before you move: block any three in a row with a gap.
- Create two threats at once. Your opponent can only block one.
- Think about rows. Threats on odd rows (counting from the bottom) favour the first player.
Questions
Can you always win Connect 4?
With perfect play, the first player can always win by starting in the middle column, but it takes very deep calculation. Our Hard computer looks seven moves ahead.
Can I play Connect 4 with a friend?
