Crypt Crawler
A lone knight, a sword and a crypt full of restless skeletons. Clear each room, open the chest, choose a relic and go one floor deeper.
How to play Crypt Crawler
Every room of the crypt is sealed until you defeat all the skeletons inside. They climb out of the floor a few at a time. When the last one falls, a treasure chest appears. Walk into it to collect the gold and choose one of three relics, then the iron gate in the far wall drops and you can walk through to the next room.
Skeletons always warn you before they strike: a red ring grows on the floor in front of them. Step out of it, or roll through it, before it fills. Every fifth room is guarded by the Bone King, a giant skeleton whose ground slam covers a wide circle and who calls in reinforcements.

Your knight turns towards the nearest skeleton when you swing, so you can concentrate on footwork. Attacks chain into a three-hit combo. The third hit is a heavy chop that deals almost double damage, knocks skeletons back and interrupts their attacks. You cannot be hurt during a dodge roll.
The skeletons
- Minions shamble towards you and punch. Easy alone, dangerous in a crowd.
- Rogues (from room 2) sprint at you and attack quickly.
- Warriors (from room 3) are slow and tough and hit very hard. Interrupt them with the heavy third hit.
- Bone mages (from room 4) keep their distance and throw purple orbs. Roll through the orb or close in fast.
Spike traps
From room 2, some floor tiles hide spikes. They rattle just before they shoot up. Spikes hurt skeletons too, so lure a crowd onto a trap.
Relics
- Sharpened blade: more sword damage.
- Swift strikes: faster attacks.
- Iron heart: more maximum health and a full heal.
- Bone drinker: heal a little for every skeleton you defeat.
- Wind boots: run faster and roll more often.
- Whirlwind: the third combo hit spins all the way round you.
- Shock roll: every dodge roll ends in a shockwave.
- Lucky strike: a bigger chance of double-damage hits.
- Long sword: longer reach.
Green potions sometimes drop from skeletons and restore health, and you heal a little each time you enter a new room.
Tips
- Fight with your back to open floor, not to a wall, so you always have somewhere to roll.
- Finish the full combo when a warrior is winding up: the heavy hit cancels its attack.
- Deal with bone mages first. Their orbs hurt from across the room.
- Whirlwind and Shock roll together turn the knight into a crowd-clearing machine.
- Against the Bone King, stay close behind it and roll away the moment its big ring appears.

Yes. It runs in your browser on phones, tablets and computers. There is nothing to install and no account needed. Your deepest room is saved in your browser.
Is it scary or gory?
No. The skeletons are chunky cartoon characters and burst into bones and coins when defeated. There is no blood.
Who made the art?
The knight, the skeletons and the dungeon pieces are from the KayKit Character Packs and KayKit Dungeon Remastered by Kay Lousberg, released under the CC0 licence. The game, its code and design are made by MiniGames Park.
